The session of the Board of Collaboration of Social Work specialists was occurred at Welfare Ministry on the 25th September 2013. The session was chaired by director of Social inclusion and Social Work Department of Welfare Ministry, Ilze Skrodele-Dubrovska. The representative from SWS board was Marite Sire. The SWA board Chairman Martins Moors represented Welfare Department of Riga\u2019s Council.<\/p>\n
The senior expert from Welfare Ministry Department of Social Service Ineta Pikse informed delegates about the latest tendencies in human trafficking and social rehabilitation measures for victims of human trafficking.<\/p>\n
Then the expert from the Children and Family Policy Department of Welfare Ministry, Viktorija Bolsakova, provided information about several enterprises. These are as follows: Conception in regards of preventive involuntary measures, draft of \u201cLaw of Preventive Involuntary Measures\u201d (expected to come into force in 2017), working team established at the Ministry of Justice and latest changes in the Law of Children Rights. Vikorija Bolsakova reported about the pilot project \u201cSocial Rehabilitation for violent persons\u201d. The outcome of this project was a formulated program of group therapy and 10 trained social work specialists from different municipalities.<\/p>\n
Ilze Skrodele-Dubrovska presented information related to the event \u201cOpen Days\u201d which was organised by the Ministry of Environment and Regional Development. She also informed the delegates about the progress within the competition for, \u201cThe best social worker\u201d and about planned state budgeting for social work studies.
