Letter to the Minister of Welfare Ramona Petraviča (09.05.2019.)

The members of the Social Workers Association prepared and on 09.05.2019. sent a letter to Ramona Petraviča, the Minister of Welfare, summarizing the issues raised by the Association General Assembly. After receiving the letter, the members of the association have been invited to a meeting with the Minister on 17.06.2019. In the Board meeting held on 9.05.2019, it was decided that representatives of the board of the association would attend the meeting.
Actual topics highlighted at the Association’s General Meeting are:

1. Need for unified regulation for professional activity and social worker status (need of Social Work Law).
2. Need for planning of social work development activities after 2020 (need to start working on next national planning document).
3. Problems of interdisciplinary cooperation at both macro and micro level.
4. The need to improve the range of social services (services as a resource for social work).
5. Issues concerning the prestige of social work in society.
6. Continuing existing cooperation.
