The Latvian Association of Social Workers invites to participate in  the annual conference of the Ministry of Welfare “Social work ethics: relationships between people”, which will take place on March 27, 2025 from 10 to 17 p.m. both in person at Pullman Riga Old Town Hotel (limited number of participants) and online: https://www.facebook.com/events/1166575621522252?acontext=%7B%22event_action_history%22%3A[%7B%22mechanism%22%3A%22search_results%22%2C%22surface%22%3A%22bookmark_search%22%7D]%2C%22ref_notif_type%22%3Anull%7D . The main theme of the conference this year is “Relationships: Values, Attitudes and Acceptance”.

Social work is based on human relationships – trust, respect and acceptance. The conference will address questions about where ethics begins and what are the road signs for ethical social work.

The conference will also be attended by three representatives of the industry – members of the Latvian Association of Social Workers:

• Vita Roga-Wiles – Doctor of Social Pedagogy (Dr. paed.) and Master of Pedagogical Sciences (Mg. paed.), member of the Latvian Society of Social Workers. She will also be the conference moderator.
• Rita Goldmane – experienced social work specialist, supervisor, chairwoman of the Ethics Commission of the Latvian Society of Social Workers.
• Mārtiņš Moors – Master of Social Sciences in Public Management (Mg. sc.), Master of Law (Mg. iur.), with higher education in social work (Bc. soc. d.), Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Latvian Society of Social Workers, Lecturer at Rīga Stradiņš University and Deputy Director of the Riga City Council Welfare Department, Head of the Social Administration.
